A couple of weekends ago, the 93rd Braes Beavers and Cubs had a joint camp at Barrwood. Focusing on badgework, they built dens, did some outdoor first aid, learned some new knots while Pioneering and then built a dresser for the basins for hand washing and dish washing. They did some kitchen knife skills, preparing a salad as part of their lunch and dinner. The showstopper was the pork shoulder which they cooked in the Dutch oven on their camp fire for 5 hours. This was followed by warm banana splits with melted chocolate and marshmallows. Lovely!
